The Small Print: Terms, Conditions & Privacy

Last updated: 1st October 2026

Thanks for choosing Anita Parkinson Massage & Sports Recovery. These terms are here to keep things clear, fair and comfortable for everyone. By booking a treatment, buying a bundle or buying a gift voucher, you're agreeing to them.

1. About me

Anita Parkinson Massage & Sports Recovery is run by Anita Parkinson, a ITEC Level 3 Sports Massage Therapist who is fully insured and a member of Member of the FHT. Treatments take place at:

  • Weston Super Mare BS23 2LW

  • HWF Fitness, 7–9 Spring Street, Bedminster, Bristol BS3 4AF

2. Booking appointments

  • Treatments are by appointment only. You can book by emailing mailto: anita@massageandsportsrecovery.com or through the Contact page.

  • Your appointment is confirmed once I've replied to confirm the date, time and location.

  • Age policy: Clients must be 18 or over.

3. Your health & consultation

  • Before your first treatment, I'll send you a consultation form. Please fill it in honestly and completely. It helps me keep you safe and plan your treatment.

  • Please let me know before your appointment if anything changes, such as a new injury, illness, medication, surgery or pregnancy.

  • Massage isn't suitable for everyone at every time. If I think a treatment isn't safe or appropriate, I may adapt it, postpone it, or ask you to get the OK from your GP first. This is always about looking after you.

  • I'm a massage therapist, not a doctor. I don't diagnose medical conditions, and my treatments don't replace medical care. If I think you'd benefit from seeing another healthcare professional, I'll let you know.

4. During your treatment

  • Your comfort and consent come first. I'll explain what I'm doing, and you can ask me to change the pressure, the technique or anything else, or to stop, at any time.

  • Techniques may include soft and deep tissue massage, MET, stretching, active massage, neuromuscular and myofascial techniques, and myofascial cupping. All of these are included in the price of your treatment.

  • Some mild soreness for a day or two after treatment is normal, especially after deeper work. If you have any concerns afterwards, please get in touch.

5. Respect & boundaries

I'm proud to offer a welcoming, professional space. I have a zero-tolerance approach to inappropriate behaviour, including any comments or actions of a sexual nature. If this happens, I'll end the treatment immediately; the full fee will still be due, and I won't offer future appointments.

6. Arriving late

Please arrive a few minutes early, especially for your first appointment. If you arrive late, I'll do my best to give you as much time as I can, but your treatment may need to finish at the original time so the next client isn't kept waiting. The full fee will still apply.

7. Cancelling or rearranging

  • Life happens, I get it. Please give me at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange.

  • Late cancellations and no-shows mean I can't offer that slot to someone else. If this happens repeatedly, I may ask for payment in advance when you book future appointments.

  • For bundle clients, a late cancellation or no-show may count as a used session.

  • Occasionally I may need to cancel or rearrange because of illness or an emergency. If so, I'll give you as much notice as possible and offer you a new time.

8. Prices & payment

  • Current prices are shown on the website. I may change prices from time to time, but the price you're quoted when you book is the price you'll pay.

  • Payment is due at the end of your treatment, by cash or card.

9. Treatment bundles

  • 6 × 60-minute treatments: £285, valid for 8 months from the date of purchase.

  • 10 × 60-minute treatments: £450, valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

  • Bundles must be paid for in full.

  • Any sessions not used within the validity period will expire.

  • Bundles are non-refundable and cannot be shared with or transferred to another person.

10. Gift vouchers

  • Gift vouchers are £52 each and cover one 60-minute treatment. They're available as a digital or printed voucher, and you can buy more than one.

  • Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. The expiry date will be shown on the voucher.

  • Vouchers are non-refundable and can't be exchanged for cash. [Optional: "Vouchers can be used towards a 90-minute treatment by paying the difference."]

  • The person receiving the voucher will need to complete the consultation form, and all the usual terms apply to them.

11. Offers

Promotional offers, such as the new client offer, are for first-time clients only unless stated otherwise. They're limited to one per person, can't be combined with other offers, and are only available until the stated end date.

12. Liability

I hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance. I'm not responsible for any reaction or injury that results from information you haven't told me, or from not following aftercare advice. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under UK consumer law.

13. Feedback & complaints

If something isn't right, I really want to know. Please email anita@massageandsportsrecovery.com and I'll respond as quickly as I can.

14. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1st October 2026

Your privacy matters to me. This policy explains what information I collect, why I collect it, and how I look after it.

Who I am

Anita Parkinson Massage & Sports Recovery is the "data controller" for your personal information. That means I'm responsible for deciding how it's used and for keeping it safe.
Contact: anita@massageandsportsrecovery.com
FHT registration number: 222646

What I collect

  • Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and, where needed, your address.

  • Health information: details from your consultation form and treatment notes, such as medical history, medications, injuries, activity levels and the treatments I've given you.

  • Enquiry information: anything you send me through the website contact form, by email, on social media or by Whatsapp.

  • Payment information: a record of what you've paid and when. Card payments are processed securely by SumUp, and I never see or store your full card details.

  • Website data: basic, anonymous information about how people use the website, collected through cookies and analytics (see Cookies below).

Why I use it

  • To reply to your enquiries and manage your bookings

  • To make sure treatments are safe and suitable for you, and to plan and record your care

  • To keep accurate records, as required by my insurer and professional body

  • To keep track of your bundle sessions and any gift vouchers

  • To meet my legal and tax obligations

I'll only send you marketing messages, such as news or offers, if you've told me you'd like to receive them. You can change your mind at any time.

The legal basis for using your information

  • Contract: I need your details to arrange and provide the treatments you've booked.

  • Legal obligation: for example, keeping financial records for HMRC.

  • Legitimate interests: for example, replying to your enquiries and running the business.

  • Explicit consent: health information is a "special category" of data. I'll ask for your explicit consent to use it when you fill in the consultation form.

Who I share it with

I never sell your information. I only share it when I need to:

  • With the trusted services I use to run the business, such as email, website hosting (Squarespace), card payments and secure record storage. These services only process your data on my behalf.

  • With another healthcare professional, but only if you've agreed, or in an emergency where your health or safety is at risk.

  • Where I'm required to by law.

Some of these providers, such as Squarespace, may store data outside the UK. When they do, they use appropriate safeguards to protect it.

How long I keep it

  • Consultation forms and treatment records: kept for 7 years after your last treatment, in line with insurance and professional guidance.

  • Enquiries that don't lead to a booking: deleted within 12 months.

  • Financial records: kept for 6 years, as required by HMRC.

How I keep it safe

Paper records are stored securely under lock and key. Digital records are password-protected and only I can access them.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information I hold about you

  • ask me to correct anything that's wrong

  • ask me to delete your information (unless I'm legally required to keep it)

  • object to or restrict how I use it

  • withdraw your consent at any time

To make a request, just email anita@massageandsportsrecovery.com If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. I'd really appreciate the chance to put things right first, though.
